Unraveling Faculty Burnout Retreat 2022-2023

One of my goals in writing Unraveling Faculty Burnout: Pathways to Reckoning and Renewal, was to reassure burned-out academic women that they are not alone and that there is comfort in both knowing yourself and connecting with others. To extend this goal, I’ll be offering two two-hour retreat opportunities to dig into some of the concepts and activities in the book with like-minded colleagues.

As 2022 comes to a close, I hope you will take this opportunity to grow in your self-knowledge and burnout resilience to move into the new year with intention and strength.

Objectives
While attending the Unraveling Faculty Burnout Retreat and in community with other academics, participants can expect to

  • Reflect and build self-awareness around your current stress and burnout levels
  • (Re)Articulate and (re)connect with your purpose for your work in higher education
  • Explore strengths, opportunities, aspirations, and resources for the new year
  • Develop a set of goals and intentions for 2023 with burnout resilience in mind.

We’ll achieve these objectives by reflecting on the past year, grounding ourselves in the present, and then stretching into the new year.

Dates
The Unraveling Faculty Burnout Retreat will run twice:

Sunday, December 18, 2-4pm ET | Saturday, January 7, 11am-1pm ET

Participants will have some brief homework to complete before the retreat that should take about an hour.

Cost
Cost for this event is $25 and includes the synchronous retreat and an accompanying workbook.

Participants
The Unraveling Faculty Burnout Retreats are open to all faculty, academic leaders, faculty developers, graduate students, etc. If you work in higher education, you are welcome.
